Logan Meeks is a new farm management specialist for the University of Tennessee Extension’s MANAGE Program and the UT Center of Farm Management, where he will provide farm and financial management assistance to farm families in the western region of the state. As a fourth-generation farmer, Meeks brings extensive education, years of industry experience, and hands-on farming knowledge.
Most recently, Meeks worked for Helena Agri-Enterprises in Memphis as the assistant credit manager, helping Helena’s customers find cost-effective funding to purchase their inputs, as well as consulting on many projects for company leadership. He previously worked for Southern States Cooperative as their agriculture finance and marketing specialist and began his career working in politics, helping numerous elected officials with fundraising and campaign strategies.
Meeks earned a doctorate and master’s degree from Murray State University, and a bachelor’s degree from Mississippi State University.
He looks forward to helping with his family farm in Halls, Tennessee. When not working on the family farm, Logan enjoys water skiing, snow skiing, and duck hunting. A fun fact that Logan shared is he likes to draft house plans on the side and has drawn many houses in West Tennessee.
Farm families from the following counties can reach Meeks by contacting their UT Extension office or via email at logsmeek@tennessee.edu: Crockett, Dyer, Fayette, Haywood, Lake, Lauderdale, Obion, Shelby and Tipton.
